Mary has convinced me that I am not toooo old to blog. She said that the thing to do is just write!!

Two weeks ago we had a mini writing class for Relief Society. The teacher said pick a subject and let your pen move across the paper. I found that I really enjoy putting pen to paper. The idea is to never let your pen stop; no editing, no spell checking, no crossing out. It was very liberating. I realize that now days we are more oriented to the computer but those of you who are writing should try the old fashioned pen to paper.

It is easiest to write about a single subject for ten minutes. Choose something like one of the following:
When I think about my grandmother or grandfather or someone else you love.
A tree I have met
A quiet place
Ice cubes (this one was fun)
Paths I have walked
I don't remember
Where I have sat
Growing up
How I learned to read
There is something about a rainy day

I will continue to try my hand at blogging. In the meantime pick a pen and find a piece of paper and see what flows out of the pen held in your hand that is connected to your brain.
